Memories After Time

10/5/2024

by CLS Sandoval
Handwritten poem,

nostalgia does to a memory
what time does to a photograph

the sharpness

the pain
the anxiety
not knowing

is all erased
or at least slightly clouded
by the slightly turned edges
tiny rips
tears along the sides

the fading gray sepia tone
technicolor of those rolls of film

cotton around the borders
of the way my mind plays those moments

soften what was once high definition
